Welcome to the Center for Comparative Epidemiology at Michigan State University

Comparative Epidemiology is the science of comparing disease processes between animal and human populations in order to develop efficient strategies for disease control and prevention.

The overall goal of comparative epidemiology is to design and implement effective disease control and prevention measures that will promote both animal and public health. This will be done by conducting risk analyses to identify potential disease control and prevention methods for the populations involved, and by working with animal and public health officials to design and implement practical disease control and prevention methods.

The CCE uses a multidisciplinary approach, with faculty from several departments and colleges at Michigan State University, to conduct research in support of the overall goals of comparative epidemiology.
